Right I’m not sure about Raspberry Pi 2 but here’s how I installed Kodi/Pulse on a Raspberry Pi 3.

Firstly you will need an 8Gb or more micro SD card, a SD card adapter to fit into a card reader, a remote or keyboard/mouse  for your Pi. and a Windows computer or laptop.

On the first Pulse Version of Kodi installation I attempted it failed as I used the Openelec software.

So please note. The Ares Wizard WILL NOT WORK when using the Openelec version of Kodi.

How Much Data Does Online Gaming Use?

I have personally completed a Quest to see just how many MB or GB online gaming actually uses up. After originally googling it I found mixed results, but due to a friend considering signing up to a mobile broadband package with a data limit I put it to the test. I have a tethering plan with my mobile phone provider which allows me to use my mobile phone has a portable wifi hotspot. My first stage of the test, upon arriving at my friends house, was to perform a speed test in the area. I used the Ookla app on my phone and got a download speed of over 3 Mbps and an upload speed of less than 0.5Mbps. That might not sound too impressive but it was actually more than 3 times faster than his landline broadband due to living in a rural area.

BT Youview Problems | Internet channels not working

BT You view Internet Channels not Working

Before providing the troubleshooting that worked for me, first I will answer two common questions about BT Television.

The first question is – Can I get BT TV without an Aerial? The answer is a big YES. Although you won’t be able to watch live freeview channels, you can still get the On Demand and premium channels using your Internet connection. You may need to do a software update for the Internet channels to appear, as did I.

The second common question I have come across is – Can I use Powerline Adaptors to connect my BT Youview Box to the Internet? The answer is again YES but if you run into any problems with the setup keep reading.

Does Engine Running Idle Still Charge The Car Battery?

A car engine is started using a battery and the battery is recharged by the alternator whilst driving. The question though is “does the car keep the battery charged when the engine is idle?”. Although I am 38 years old already, I am fairly new to Cars but I recently put this to the test. Just to let you know why, In my first or second year of driving I was parked outside a supermarket. My wife was shopping and I thought it would be a good idea to stream Netflix to my phone during the wait. I connected my phone to the in car charger but did not fire up the engine. I know women like to shop a lot but it must have only been a 45 minute to one hour wait. When my wife got out and we were ready to go home, I tried to start the engine. Lifeless, called the breakdown service out and it was nothing but a flat battery. That’s when I realized that despite car batteries being extremely large, they don’t last long without the alternator charging them. Another time we had a semi flat battery, I researched extensively to see the best procedure for getting the battery to full strength. The common answer was to drive the car at high revs on a main road. Continue reading

How to Remove Folders From Playstation Vita

Playstation Vita Folders

Recently I was fortunate enough to buy myself a Sony Playstation Vita Console. My Son has not put it down since day one. However, for trusting a toddler with a piece of technology I began to pay for my choice. Jed, my son, has a habit of creating folders for each and every vita app I have installed. So when it’s my turn on the vita I just see the vita icons as bubbles with a tiny picture of each app. Continue reading

How to Find SIM Card Number on Nokia Lumia Windows 8.0 Smartphone

SOLVED: This method was tested on a Nokia Lumia 720 but should work on ALL Lumias and possibly other Windows 8.0 Smart phones.

Basically I needed the last 8 digits of my sim card number to register to manage my mobile online. Unfortunately I had cut my sim due to a phone change and the numbers did not show. I had also lost the original sim card holder that contained the number. Therefore I was at a loss and needed another way of retrieving my simcard number.

After a bit of playing with my phone I found out how to find it via the Nokia Lumia, here follows the step by step guide.

How to Connect a Wireless Printer to Laptop or Computer

How to connect a Wireless Printer to your PC

So you have a wireless printer but can’t find it on your Computer or Laptop?

Well the first thing to do is ensure your PC or Laptop has WIFI because if not then it is impossible to connect the printer without a printer cable. In all likeliness though your computer does have WIFI and you still cannot connect. Therefore this is what you need to do. You cannot connect direct from PC or Laptop to your wireless printer. If you could then you would have neighbours discovering your printer on their computers. No, what you must do first is associate your printer with your home network. I.e your router! There are multiple ways to do this but only 2 I will mention.

How to Stop Smoking | How I Quit Smoking

How Do I Quit Smoking?

First I must tell you I began smoking at 16 years old. My habit steadily progressed from chasing a tobacco rush to 50 a day morning until night. My first thought in the morning was a cup of tea and a ciggie. At 36, after some extreme life events and after tens of people previously telling me I should quit I decided to have a serious go at it. I had tried many times before with my record being three weeks, but was determined this time. I made an appointment with the Nurse for advice and substitutes. The nurse gave me a tube to blow into to see how much poison was in my system from smoking and my result was off the gauge!!! She also gave me a date to quit and a one week prescription of smoking alternatives. The alternatives were patches and a nicotine inhaler and she only gave me a weeks supply probably to save money in case I failed. I also made a wager with my mother, who also smoked and still does! A wager with another smoker is a good motivator over those first few days. Anyway, it wasn’t until hindsight that I figured out how I stopped smoking. Smoking addiction consists of two properties, addiction and habit. You must overcome both to be a non smoker! I will try to explain how to quit smoking but first please continue reading so I can help you understand..

Z and Y Keys Switched on Keyboard | Android Problem

I was surprised today to find the Z and Y keys on my Android keyboard were in the wrong places. They had completely swapped positions on the keyboard. I tried looking up online for a solution to get them back in the correct position but one of the Android threads I read mentioned flashing the phone and installing a QWERTY file instead of a QWERTZ.

Z and Y Keys have swapped places on Android Keyboard

This is my way of fixing it.

How fast does the Earth rotate around the Sun?

The Earth takes one year to complete a full orbit of the Sun, most people know that. However, the exact amount of time is said to be 365.25 days and that is why we have a leap year every 4 years to make up for the extra day. Read More about the year here.

Now we know how long the Earth takes to travel around the Sun, now we must move on to mathematics.

To find the circumference (or orbit) we need the diameter and then to multiply it by Pi.

According to wiki answers the Earth varies in distance from the Sun each cycle but the average distance is as follows :-  92,955,887.6 Miles or 149, 597, 870.7 Km
